We offer opportunities for our members to learn and socialize. Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month from September to June. The meetings include a program of invited guest speakers and cover a range of topics. Interest Groups and other activities keep members engaged.
We are a self-funded, non-profit, non-partisan organization of approximately 81 women, and growing. New members are always welcome (no degree or diploma required). We support CFUW’s aims and objectives of advocacy for education, the rights of women and the participation of women in public affairs.
We work directly within our own community to support local initiatives. Through the CFUW Ontario Council, our national organization the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) and, Graduate Women International (GWI) our Club participates in developing provincial, national, and international policy and we avocate for issues affecting women.
Supporting young and mature women’s education has always been a core mission of CFUW. CFUW Southport provides serval Scholarships to female graduates of Saugeen District High School and to mature women who are pursuing Post-Secondary education prior to re-entering the work force.
